Tell me more about Private Music Lessons…

What we have learned about teaching music in Private Music Lessons:

We believe that the best way to learn a musical instrument is through one-on-one, private music lessons.  Our teachers know how to tailor the lesson for each individual student.  We take into account the students age, if any experience, personality, and learning style.  We have students in private lessons as early as 5 years old all the way to retired adults.  It’s NOT too late to learn how to play music.

One-on-one attention:

Students in private lessons are able to learn at their own pace and create realistic goals to achieve.  We, as instructors, can focus on what is best for the individual student to ensure success.  As we are working through new materials, the teachers help students with technical issues like their hand position, posture and nailing down a particular song part.  If the student has difficulty in one area, the teacher can address the problem directly.

WHAT WILL I LEARN IN PRIVATE LESSONS?

When you enroll here for lessons, your teacher will ask you about your favorite type of music, and set goals to help you accomplish whatever musical aspirations you have for yourself or your child. Together, we will develop a routine to reach your goals within a reasonable amount of time! We love beginners, so if you don’t know where to start, we can help!

CAN WE TAKE LESSONS ONLINE FROM HOME?

Yes! You can take private lessons online or in-person at our Leander location. With our “Flexible Learning Plan,” you can actually change between online or in-person lessons, on a weekly basis. We make it easy for our families to stay engaged in music lessons.

PIANO LESSONS

Learning Piano is fun for all ages.  Our teachers teach a wide range of styles from classical to modern, blues and pop music. The students should expect to work through coordination exercises and patterns, playing by ear, reading notes, understanding notation and rhythm.  As always, we invite the piano students to bring in their song ideas and the teacher will help you learn your favorites. Of course, it is great to have a piano at home, but you can start private music lessons with our piano teachers by using an electric keyboard or digital piano to practice on. Most of our students rent or buy digital pianos because we recommend a keyboard that has regular sized keys and a touch sensitive response.  Preferably with a weighted / graded keys.

private guitar lessons

GUITAR, UKULELE, MANDOLIN, BANJO LESSONS

Learning to play Guitar in lessons is very popular.  Our guitar instructors teach rock, blues, country, metal and classical guitar lessons on electric and acoustic guitar.  Beginner students will start with simple melodies and strumming rhythms.  We work through fundamentals like notation and reading notes with method books.  From there we can learn new songs and work on playing chords.  We use a variety of music but always encourage our students to bring in their favorite song ideas to learn and have fun!  Taking private music lessons is the best way to make progress. VOICE & SINGING LESSONS

Our voice teachers typically focus on popular music and musical theater songs.  If you have dreamed of being a singer we can help by encourage a diverse experience in musical genres.  Our students sing rock, pop, country, jazz, gospel, theatre, and  R&B songs.  Voice students work through physical exercises to improve their breath control vocal range, ear training, tine, and voice control, diction and more.  Fundamentals like these are introduced early on in vocal lessons.  Students work on learning their favorite songs by their favorite recording artists or preparing for a school audition or recital performance.  By learning about a variety of genres and styles, each student can develop their own unique voice. private drum lessons

DRUM LESSONS

Our drum instructors begin with the basics – how to hold the sticks properly, wrist movement and beginning rudiments and rhythms.  Students in private music lessons should expect to be challenged with the tradition sticking patterns.  The 40 standard rudiment are available for free at www.PAS.org.  You do not have to purchase a drum set to take lessons. Beginning students can learn with a drum pad and sticks.  Students use our drum set at their lessons and do not have to bring anything except their drum sticks, books and notebook.  Students who are prepping for or are in middle school band can learn about the xylophone, as well as snare drumming.  As we establish the basic language of drumming our teachers begin to introduce drum set beats and teach students about rock, metal, jazz, funk, blues, latin and other styles. Our instructors understand a wide variety of technical exercises will improve the students confidence and comfort.  Click HERE for more.

BASS LESSONS

Playing the Bass is a super fun and relatively easy instrument to get started on. But it is a very important instrument in any group setting. Bass players are the glue between rhythm, harmony and melody. We have to develop a strong connection with the drummer so, rhythmic training is a big part of bass lessons. Though the bass typically plays single notes in a melodic rhythm, the instrument can and usually is one of the defining instrument in a song. We love offering bass lessons to students from Austin, Cedar Park, Leander, Liberty Hill, Georgetown and Round Rock. Click HERE for more.
